Mandau AR-89
The Mandau AR-89 is a next-generation assault rifle developed and manufactured by Mandau Arms, a high-tech weapons contractor based in the Federation of Independent Systems (FIS) and Trikora. Introduced in the merchants' war and The Great Calamity, the AR-89 serves as the standard-issue service rifle for front-line infantry units and special forces of the FIS Armed Forces. Its defining characteristic is its use of 4.77×35mm caseless ammunition, offering advantages in weight, logistics, and operational stealth compared to conventional cased rounds.
Design and Development
Development of the Mandau AR-89 was initiated under the militarization of the Federation program, aimed at producing a modular, lightweight infantry rifle optimized for future battlefield environments. By using previous rifle designs such as Mandau’s AR-30 Rifle, which was widely used in human space, the goal of this new rifle is to improve the lack of standardization issue of parts and the quality of the firearm itself.
